Post Mortem: KC Treeko
KC Treeko
Date of Occurrence: 07/29/2024 and 03/23/2025
Evidence Provided to Admins: Every season she has played
Summary of Events:
On July 29, 2024, Kingdom Coffee’s Cold Brew played against Omnipotent Sandwiches’ Prophetic Paninis in a best-of-5 match to determine the championship series. In many of those games, KC Treeko (known henceforth as Treeko) played terribly. Notably, on the final map, Treeko decided to role swap to KAY-O and proceeded to go almost double negative, posting a 9-15-5 scoreline. KC Cold Brew lost the map in addition grand finals series against OS Prophetic Paninis.
The following season, on March 23, 2025, Kingdom Coffee’s Espresso fought against Light Garden’s Purple Iris in another best-of-5 grand finals matchup to determine the winner of the season. Notably, Treeko decided to role swap again during map 3 to Brimstone, where they proceeded to go double negative, posting a 7/14/6 scoreline. Like their apprentice team in Season 6, KC Espresso did lose the map where Treeko played poorly, and eventually the series.
While losing a grand finals match is not inherently punishable or in violation of any rules, Treeko lost grand finals twice in a row, which no other player in VDC has accomplished so far. In order to protect the league’s image as a place where players can improve every season, the league has decided to punish Treeko for her failure to successfully win on well-built KC teams. Their poor play has lead to KC playing a 4v5 in every match, which has led to the league interpreting it as a violation of Behavior Guidelines Rule 24: Leaving a team or the VDC discord mid-season. Additionally, losing 2 finals in a row gives the league a negative image, which violates Behavior Guidelines Rule 7: General detrimental conduct against the League. Finally, the display of Treeko’s gameplay was so awful to witness on the streamed VDC account that it was in violation of Behavior Guidelines Rule 34: NSFW messages, images, or videos.
Conclusion:
Given the excessively poor display of VALORANT gameplay shown from Treeko during these series, the Not-Admin team has voted unanimously (1-0-0)* to enact the following:
Treeko will be forced to play aim labs for a total of 200 hours throughout the duration of Season 8.
Additionally, Treeko will be forced into mandatory coaching in order to improve on her game sense, utility usage, movement, and overall gameplay. She will also be required to meditate for a total of 100 hours throughout the duration of Season 8 in order to correct her severe tilting issues.
KC will be awarded a compensatory pick in accordance with Rulebook Rule 4.1.3.
In the future, players who lose 2 finals in a row (and retroactively, Treeko) will be exempt from being the victim of a violation of Behavior Guidelines Rule 36: Unsportsmanlike conduct.
*Votes are presented as such: (for-against-abstain)
Appendix:
VDC Behavioral Guidelines: Rule 7: "General detrimental conduct against the league"
VDC Behavior Guidelines: Rule 24: “Leaving a team or the VDC discord mid-season”
VDC Behavioral Guidelines: Rule 34: “NSFW messages, images, or videos"
VDC Rulebook: Rule 4.1.3: “If a player goes inactive, outright refuses to play for a roster, or intentionally sabotages games during the season, the franchise will be awarded a pick for the following season, at the end of the round, 2 rounds later than the player was selected in the draft.”
Note: The entire post-mortem is a joke. Treeko played comparatively well during the entire series and this is a good-faith jab at the fact that she has lost 2 finals in a row. Additionally, Treeko has given me permission to post this post mortem mock-up in the main VDC server. Mods, please do not interpret this as flame or unsportsmanlike conduct.
